History
Our roots in anesthesia services originated, as a company, back in 1998; however many of our leaders have been individually associated with anesthesia for over thirty years. AHP's original focus was within the rural hospital community, where we provided anesthesia consulting services concentrating on forming dedicated hospital-based anesthesia services. Our anesthesia practices were designed to serve the hospital exclusively and really helped eliminate the burden placed upon the anesthesiologists and CRNAs from ever increasing need for "business management" within the anesthesiology specialty. In the late 90's a majority of hospitals that we met with simply had anesthesiologists and CRNAs who were not formerly trained to "run an anesthesia businesses" who did not have (or want) the resources available to handle the increased "business aspects" associated with the growth of managed care in the late 90's.
The 90's also brought about an increase to anesthesia billing complexities and a growing struggle to manage the recruitment process during the increasing national shortage of anesthesia providers. Simply put the need to have an anesthesia management business partner simply made sense for running an exemplary anesthesia service; while allowing the anesthesia providers to focus on their clinical expertise and responsibilities.
Our services rapidly expanded in 2000 to include more metropolitan (250,000 to 1,000,000 population) geographic regions, with those hospital partnerships also interested in having a turn-key anesthesiology platform leveraged in their facility; allowing their own administrations to focus more attention on expanding the hospital's service lines, improving patient and surgeon satisfaction; while reducing any existing anesthesia subsidies and having an option when it came to their anesthesia department leadership.
After 12 years, AHP has worked very hard with each of our anesthesiologist, CRNA and facility partners to establish a reputation for being one of the most respected anesthesia practice management companies in the country. Without this reputation, we would not have gained the experience of managing over 80 anesthesia service practices since 1998.
Milestone
We are also very proud to have grown, since 2004, to become the US's largest manager of anesthesiologist and CRNA administered propofol sedation services in an outpatient single-specialty setting; with a documented history of recruiting teams that support a pleasant, efficient and team spirited environment, which is at the foundation of our "Invited Guest Attitude" (IVA) program.
Timeline
AHP has recently been featured in SurgiStrategies Magazine, Becker's Hospital Review, South Florida Hospital News and spoken at many state and national events pertaining to anesthesia services.
- 1998 - Global Staffing, Inc was founded supporting a $55,000 anesthesia consulting contract to a Texas based hospital.
- 2000 - Added two exclusive hospital partnerships, bringing our revenue to $4.5 million.
- 2002 - Changed our name to Anesthesia Healthcare Partners, Inc. to better reflect our complete line of anesthesia services.
- 2003 - Expanded our corporate infrastructure and began to market AHP across the country.
- 2004 - Began to leverage our seasoned anesthesia management team and staffing infrastructure to support anesthesia in the single-specialty surgery center setting providing exclusive and dedicated propofol sedation.
- 2006 - We opened our first regional office in Newport News, Virginia serving our East Coast partnerships.
- 2007 - Continued our focus on patient safety through our long-term relationship with the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation ("APSF") as sustaining Grand Patron, second only to the American Society of Anesthesiologists ("ASA").
- 2008 - We opened our second and third regional offices in Orlando and Pensacola Florida.
- 2009 - Expanded our operations to the West Coast, supporting AHP's strategic national expansion plan and extending our leadership presence.
- 2010 - Expanded our operations to the MidWest supporting AHP's strategic national expansion plan and extending our leadership presence into Michigan.
